How to Edit Your Company Website URL & Theme

This help article explains how to manage your company website URL and visual theme in MagicDoor.

Use this article as a reference when configuring your company’s public-facing website in MagicDoor.

Step 1: Understand Your Website URL Options

MagicDoor provides two options for your company website URL.

Default MagicDoor URL

  • Ends with with.magicdoor.com
  • No domain purchase required
  • Fully functional and ready to use

If you’re using the default MagicDoor URL, no additional setup is needed.

Custom Domain (Optional)

If you want a branded URL (for example, mycompany.com):

  • You must purchase a domain from a domain provider
  • You’ll need to set up a CNAME record in your domain’s DNS settings
  • The CNAME should point to your MagicDoor URL

After setting the CNAME:

  • HTTPS typically activates within about one hour
  • Once active, your custom domain becomes your primary website URL

Step 2: Edit Your Website URL

To manage your website URL settings:

  • Go to Portal Invite & URL in your MagicDoor account settings
  • Follow the instructions to either:
    • Continue using the default MagicDoor URL, or
    • Connect your custom domain

Once you switch to a custom domain, the default MagicDoor URL will no longer work.

Step 3: Confirm Your Custom Domain

After setup is complete:

  • Visiting the default MagicDoor URL will show an error
  • Your custom domain will load your website successfully

This ensures visitors only access your site through your branded URL.

Step 4: Customize Your Website Theme

You can update the look and feel of your website to match your brand.

  • Navigate to Portal Settings
  • Customize:
    • Website color theme
    • Company logo
    • Background image

Changes are applied to your company website automatically.
