How to Send a Lease Renewal Manually


This help article explains how to send a lease renewal manually in MagicDoor.

Use this article as a reference when you need full control over lease renewal terms, timing, or financial adjustments.

Step 1: Open Leases

Start by navigating to your leases.

  • From the left-side navigation, go to Leasing
  • Select Leases
  • Locate a lease that is ending soon and click to open it

Step 2: Start a Lease Renewal

Begin the renewal process from the lease overview.

  • Scroll down to the Renewals of Lease section
  • On the right-hand side, click Add Renewal Offer

Step 3: Set the Renewal Terms

Define how the new lease should work.

  • Choose whether the renewal is:
    • Fixed Term, or
    • Month-to-Month
  • Select the End Date for the new lease
  • Click Next

Step 4: Add Charges to the New Lease

Set the financial terms for the renewal.

  • Add or update charges such as:
    • Rent
    • Pet fees
    • Any other recurring charges
  • Click Next

Step 5: Configure Renewal and Signing Options

Choose how the renewal will be finalized.

  • Decide whether to:
    • Create and apply the renewal immediately, or
    • Set it up for Renewal Signing
  • Select whether a Signature is Required or Not Required
  • Add any Custom Lease Text
  • Set the Offer Expiration Date
  • Click Next

Step 6: Select the Lease Document

Choose which lease document will be used.

  • Use the Default Lease Template, or
  • Select and combine one or more existing lease templates
  • Click Next

Step 7: Send the Renewal for Signature

Finalize and send the renewal offer.

  • Review the renewal details
  • Click Finish

The lease renewal is now sent to the tenant for e-signing.
